To Make Your Own Paper Mache

This is such an easy paper mache recipe that you can make at home for your toddler or preschooler...and they'll love it!

Kids can get creative by using this paper mache glue recipe and usually the paper shreds are not the only thing that gets glued...

Just about anything can get paper mached - recyclable bottles, balloons, styrofoam, old toys..

...and kids can just about make anything with paper mache - such as animal sculptures, pinata's or even space shoes using empty tissue boxes.

These paper mache paste recipes requires common and cheap household ingredients and very little time and effort.

Best Paper Mache Recipe

Note: Depending on the amount of paper mache you need - increase or decrease the quantities of this recipe.

What You Need:

• 1 cup plain flour
• 1/2 cup of salt
• 4 cups water
• saucepan
• whisk
• bowl

What To Do:

1. Put all of the ingredients into a saucepan.
2. Over a medium heat, whisk the ingredients together to combine.
3. Keep whisking to prevent lumps until the mixture is thick, smooth and paste-like. This usually only takes less than 8 minutes.
4. Transfer to a bowl to cool.
5. Give to your child to make fun things with.

Note: Usually for toddlers - the thicker the paste the easier to apply - but if a thinner paste is needed add more water - little bits at a time - until you get the desired consistency.

Storing Paper Mache Paste

Paper mache paste can be stored - covered - in the fridge for a couple of days.
