Salt Dough Heart Valentine Decorations

These decorations are so much fun to make for preschoolers and especially toddlers. It is a bit of a process though - so can be a fun craft activity to do on 2 separate days.

What You Need - To Bake the Heart Shapes:

What To Do:

  1. Whip up a batch of the salt dough using this Salt Dough Recipe.
  2. Roll out and cut as many heart shapes as you like. This is the most fun part for kids. Also get them to roll small balls and thread onto oiled skewers (otherwise they'll stick - never to be removed again!!)
  3. It's important to follow the baking instructions. They need to be dried out slowly. This will take about 2 hours or more depending on the size of the cookie cutters.
  4. Before baking - make holes in the top of the hearts where they will get hung.
  5. Once baked hard - let them cool.
